Green Juice Detox cleanse

While our bodies already detox naturally, this refreshing juice provides an extra boost of vitamins, antioxidants, and hydration that may support digestion and overall wellness. The combination of crisp apple, zesty lemon, and soothing ginger balances the earthiness of spinach and parsley, creating a light, invigorating drink.

The best part? It’s incredibly easy to make at home with just a juicer or blender. If you love fresh, homemade juices, you might also enjoy our naturally sweet beet juice with lemon or these powerful ginger shots !

Ingredients :

  • 2 cups packed baby spinach leaves
  • Handful parsley leaves and stems
  • 1 medium green apple, rinsed with core removed
  • 1 large seedless (hothouse or English) cucumber, rinsed
  • 1-inch length piece fresh ginger, scrubbed clean
  • 1 small lemon, seeds removed

Key Ingredients :

I love making this green detox juice as a simple way to add extra nutrients to my day. While I don’t do juice cleanses or replace meals with juice, I enjoy a small, veggie-packed drink alongside my fiber-rich breakfast or lunch.

Here’s why each ingredient makes this juice so refreshing and nourishing:

  • Green Apple : My favorite natural sweetener! It’s affordable and adds just the right amount of sweetness to balance the greens.
  • Parsley : This bright green herb is packed with nutrients and adds a fresh, slightly peppery taste. A little goes a long way!
  • Spinach : A budget-friendly, iron-rich leafy green that blends smoothly into juices.
  • Cucumber : Hydrating and refreshing, cucumber adds a light, crisp taste. I prefer thin-skinned varieties like English cucumbers for juicing.
  • Lemon : Adds a zesty, refreshing flavor while boosting vitamin C, which helps with iron absorption from greens like spinach.
  • Ginger : Spicy, warming, and great for digestion! No need to peel, just scrub, slice, and juice.

This juice is a delicious way to nourish your body and feel refreshed. If you love fresh juices, check out my beet juice with lemon or my go-to ginger shots for an extra health boost!

Green Juice Detox Cleanse

Instructions :

Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients

  • Slice the apple, cucumber, and ginger into thin pieces that can easily pass through the juicer.
  • Remove the yellow peel from the lemon while keeping most of the white pith and juicy center. Cut it into slices, discard the seeds, and set aside half of the lemon to tweak the flavor later.

Step 2: Extract the Juice

  • Switch on the juicer and gradually add the ingredients, alternating between leafy greens (parsley, spinach) and firmer ingredients like apple, cucumber, and lemon.

Step 3: Adjust for Taste

  • After juicing everything except the reserved lemon, give the juice a stir and taste it. If you want it tangier, add the remaining lemon.
  • If the juice turns out too sour, balance it by juicing a whole unpeeled carrot or another apple without the core for natural sweetness.

For the freshest taste and maximum nutrition, drink your green juice right away!

Tips to Make Green Detox Juice :

If you have a juicer, simply run all your ingredients through it and enjoy! I like to remove the lemon peel and seeds, as well as the apple core before juicing.

I personally use an Omega slow/cold-press juicer (not a sponsored mention, just my go-to at home). It works wonderfully, especially for leafy greens, which are perfect for this green juice recipe.

No juicer? No problem! Blend everything in a high-powered blender for about 60 to 90 seconds, then strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer before drinking.

In case you’re unfamiliar, there are two primary types of juicers:

  • Centrifugal Juicers: These are typically more budget-friendly and work by rapidly spinning blades to extract juice from produce. Some worry that the heat generated in this process may reduce nutrient levels. Additionally, they tend to be less efficient, meaning you might not get as much juice from your fruits and vegetables.
  • Slow/Cold-Press (Masticating) Juicers: These use a gentle squeezing technique to extract juice, maximizing yield. While they’re generally more expensive, they help get the most out of your produce, which can make up for the cost in the long run. This is the type I personally use and highly recommend.
  • Make-Ahead Tip: Fresh vegetable juice tastes best when consumed right after juicing, but you can prepare it a day or two in advance. Store it in airtight glass containers to maintain freshness. If you’ve used a cold-press juicer, your juice may stay fresh a bit longer.
